To All COLA LO Members,
This week the PR battle over Lake Access took a new turn with the Oregonian and OPB beginning the media spin on the issue. Its an early round to preview what we will see as the ongoing conflict regarding lake access and property rights takes a new turn.
It seems that both publications are forecasting a future legal battle involving property owners against the city government. In the end only the taxpayers will be hurt by doling out millions that can be used for core services.
The Oregonian article Spar Over Public Access outlines some of the basic details but also gives credence to the position of outsiders attempting to gain access to both Lake Oswego and the Lake.
Once again it seems an outside agenda may be thrusted onto residents by special interest groups that will benefit financially from the argument. Many are asking at what point to City leaders step in and say "enough"?
Lets see how our 2012 City Council handles the issue or doesn't as we enter the voting booth in the Fall.
