The City Council plans to appoint David Donaldson as the interim City Manager for the next year. The Oregonian reported the details yesterday in an article Donaldson to be Interim City Manager. Mr. Donaldson has been the Asst. City Manager for some time and the council will appoint him until a new Council selects a a permanent City Manager in 2013. 
The current City Manager Alex McIntyre decided to leave the post shortly after Mayor Hoffman and Councilor Moncrieff announced they would not see reelection. He is leaving effective February 22nd to take a similar post in the Bay Area.
As most members know the direction of the city has been very controversial since Mr. McIntyre took the position of City Manager and the City Council disagreed on fundamental issues within the community.
Let's hope Mr. Donaldson returns some stability to managing the city and aligning the direction more toward the interests and priorities of our residents.
