COLA Board Member Asks "What is Personal and What is Political?"

TO All COLA LO Members,

Last week board member Gary Gipson published an article in the LO review describing an encounter he had with tow of our elected officials on the City Council.   In it he describes comments made in regards to property rights and elections.    The article drew immediate response from elected officials and public input online.  The article, elected officials response, and online comments can be found at the following link:    Personal or Political?

It provides some insight into the inner workings between our community and elected officials.     Many citizens have neither met nor discussed issues of concern with their elected officials so the interactions of others provide valuable information regarding how our elected representatives perceive the issues and the community.  

As the 2012 Council proceeds through its business entering an election season in the fall its imperative that all of us continue to review the decisions made by our elected representatives and the general direction of local government.   The current administration has produced a significant amount of conflict within the community from its decisions so its important that all of us stay informed.  

It will be interesting to see how this council votes and achieves the objectives it has set out for 2012.
