Planning commision Backs Off Public Access to Lake

TO All COLA LO Members,

This week the LO Review published an article detailing the decision of the Planning commission to back off the call by one commissioner to promote pubic access to the lake.    This was after they received 700 emails and 200 residents attended the planning commission meeting this week.

In a complete reversal the commission voted to not promote public access in the comprehensive plan but to refocus on the Willamette and Tualatin rivers and promote access there.

This clearly seems to be consistent with the desire of the community overall and represents a major rebuke of the ongoing agenda of specific parties.   It will be interesting to see how this issue continues to play out as we approach the election season this November.

Its  clearly a win for the community overall by preserving private property rights and Property Values according to many real estate brokers who testified at the hearing.

The Review article can be found at:  Lake Access wont Change  more details can be found at Council - Status Quo.
