Mayor Hoffman Asks For Civility - Citizens Respond

To All COLA LO members,

This week the LO review published an article on the Mayors state of the city presentation to a local Rotary organization.    IN it the Mayor asks for more civility in the public discourse.   Mayor Hoffman is quoted as saying:

" Lake Oswego must move beyond the acrimony that characterized public discussion of issues over the past year, especially on such topics as the streetcar project"  and “It just takes leadership for this to happen,”

Citizens are weighing in on line about the article and the comments made by the Mayor.    The online comments provide valuable insight into not only the sentiment of the community but also the diversity of opinion.    Much of the comments clearly relate to a pattern of bullying that is perceived by citizens in regards to the issues forced on the community.

The article can be found at: More Civility.
