COLA LO Board Member Asks "Is City Spending Aligned with Community Values?"

To All COLA LO Members,

Last week Board Member Dave Berg submitted an article to the LO review outlining spending issues and several community surveys conducted in the past year.    In the article he asks if actual spending is aligned with the values of the community and the direction provided by citizens in recently completed professional surveys.

The article can be found at:   Council Spending to Support Community Values?

Its an ongoing discussion within the community after the suspension of several multi million dollar initiatives that lacked community support and comments by residents that core services have been neglected while spending on visionary projects has increased.

Many are asking if this will continue given the City Council's 2012 goals and objectives.

Only time will tell but citizens are evaluating the direction as they proceed into the 2012 election season.

Citizens are also asking if the spending patterns of the past will be continued under a new City Manager?

Please notify all members, contacts, and friends.
